2. Computer CPU Casing

Definition of computer hardware

Computer CPU Casing is a big box which is like a case to keep your Computer Internal Parts to run your Computer. Motherboard, Processor, RAM, Hard Disk Drive (HDD), DVD ROM or Writer, Expansion Cards (Graphic Card, Sound Card, Lan Card, TV Card) etc. Computer parts are staying into a Computer CPU Casing.

a) Power Supply Unit (PSU)

A Power Supply Unit (PSU) converts Alternating Current (AC) electric power to low voltage DC power for the internal parts of the computer. Laptops are capable to run from a “Built in Battery”, normally for a period of hours.

b) CPU Casing Fan

CPU Casing Fan is a part of the Computer CPU Casing. When you buy a Computer Casing, that time, Casing Fan will be attached with your CPU Casing. Older versions of CPU Casing have no CPU Casing Fan.

3. Motherboard

Definition of computer hardware

The Motherboard is the main part inside the Central Processing Unit (CPU) Casing. It is a large rectangular board with integrated circuits that connects the other components of the computer including Processor, Random Access Memory (RAM), the disk drives (CD, DVD, Hard Disk or any others), CPU Power Supply, Expansion Cards (Graphic Card, Sound Card, Lan Card, TV Card) as well as any peripherals connected with the ports or expansion slots.

a) Processor

Processor plays a vital role for your Computer. A Processor is attached to the Motherboard with Processor Slot. A Processor is like a Brain of a Computer. A Processor does the Calculations and controls the Computer Functions. Usually, a Processor is cooled by a heat sink and fan.

b) Chipsets

Chipsets are the Chips of the Motherboard. A Motherboard includes “North Bridge” Chipset. Chipsets also do communication between the CPU and the other parts of the Computer System, including Main Memory.

c) Random Access Memory (RAM)

Random Access Memory (RAM) stores the “Computer Code” and “Computer Data” that are being actively accessed by the “Computer Processor”.

d) Read Only Memory (ROM)

Read Only Memory (ROM) stores the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) which runs when the computer is powered on or otherwise begins execution, a process known as “Booting”. The BIOS includes “Boot Firmware” and “Power Management Firmware” in your Computer.

e) Processor Cooling Fan

Processor Cooling Fan is a important part of Computer Processor. When, your Computer Processor is getting Heat in your Computer, that time, Processor Cooling Fan helps you to keep “Cool” of Computer Processor.

f) Expansion Cards

Expansion Cards helps you to attach the extra Computer Parts with your “Computer Motherboard’s Expansion Slots” which is not included with your “Computer Motherboard”. You can attach this Expansion Cards to the “Computer Motherboard’s Expansion Slots” directly or from the “CPU Back Panel” to the “Computer Motherboard’s Expansion Slots” indirectly.

          i) Graphic Card

Graphic Card helps you to see the Computer Works visually perfectly. High Level Computer works depends on the “Graphic Card” with “High Graphic Card Memory”. For example- Graphics Design, Video Editing etc.

          ii) Sound Card

Sound Card is used to get the best Sound quality from your Computer. It will boost your Sound quality to listen from your Computer. You also get the special Sound effect from your Sound Cards.

           iii) Lan Card

Sometimes, you can attach your Broadband Cable for using the Internet with your Lan Card. Sometimes, you can attach the Network Connection Cables to the Lan Card.

          iv) TV Card

Usually, you Watch the Television with Satellite TV Channels. But, now, you can also Watch the Television with Satellite TV Channels with Internet or External TV Cards in your Computer. You can also capture the TV Programs through the TV Card in your Computer.

4. Drive

Definition of computer hardware

You can use different types of Drives in your Computer.

a) Hard Disk Drive (HDD)

Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a “Data Storage Device” which helps you to store your Computer Data for long term use. You can Save your important Data to the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) for life time period in your life.

b) Removable Drive

To transfer Data between computers, Removable Drive such as USB Flash Drive or Pen Drive can be used. It is very easy to transfer Data from one Computer to another Computer.

c) External Drive

External Drive is a Drive which is used externally to your Computer through the USB Port from your Computer. For example- External Hard Disk, External DVD Writer etc.

d) Disk Drive
You can use different types of Disk Drives in your Computer.

          i) Compact Disc Read Only Memory (CD ROM)
Compact Disc Read Only Memory (CD ROM) is used to Read the Compact Disk (CD) in your Computer. Usually, Compact Disk (CD) capacity is 700 MB.

ii) Digital Video Disc Read Only Memory (DVD ROM)

Digital Video Disc Read Only Memory (DVD ROM) is used to Read the Compact Disk (CD) and Digital Video Disc (DVD) in your Computer. Usually, Digital Video Disc (DVD) capacity is 4.7 GB.

          iii) CD Writer

Usually, CD Writer can “Read” the Compact Disk (CD) in your Computer. CD Writer also can write your important Data to the “Writable Blank CD Disk” in your Computer. This “Writed CD Data” will stay in this “CD Disk” for lifetime.

          iv) DVD writer

Usually, DVD Writer can “Read and Write” the Compact Disk (CD) and Digital Video Disc (DVD) in your Computer. DVD Writer also can write your important Data to the “Writable Blank CD or DVD Disk” in your Computer. This “Writed CD or DVD Data” will stay in this “CD or DVD Disk” for lifetime. So, you must try to buy “DVD Writer”.

          v) Optical disk drive

An Optical Disc Drive (ODD) is a disk drive that uses laser light within or near the visible light spectrum as part of the process of reading or writing data to or from optical discs in your Computer.

5. Keyboard

Definition of computer hardware

Keyboard is a media to give the instructions to the Computer. Usually, Keyboard has a wire which is connected with the Computer CPU Casing. Currently, some Keyboards have no wire to give instructions to the Computer.

6. Mouse
Definition of computer hardware

Mouse is also a media to give the instructions to the Computer. Usually, Mouse has a wire which is connected with the Computer CPU Casing. Currently, some Mouse’s has no wire to give instructions to the Computer.
